The International Flute Competition Guangzhou is an international professional music competition. The Competition aims at enhancing international music exchange, especially in the field of promoting the international development of flute playing. The competition is scheduled to be hold in a sequence of every 4 years.

The International Flute Competition Guangzhou is scheduled for the following dates:
Pre-screening
Application: until May 31, 2026
Video (on YouTube) screening results on internet: June 15, 2026
The pieces on the video must not be edited. Please choose a large room for your recording. Send the video as „YouTube unlisted“ and your current playlist with word file to: ifc.guangzhou@gmail.com
The competition will take place on September 28 to October 8, 2026.

Applicants must complete the application form provided (obtainable through the website) and send it to the organizing committee. The whole set of application materials are listed below:
a) Completed application form (download from www.cifcg.ch)
b) Photo of the applicant taken within the past six months
A copy of the applicant’s passport or other equivalent document which proves the age of the applicant;
d) Video record for preliminary screening on YouTube
The video should contain the performance of the pieces required for the preliminary screening indicated separately. The recording must be originated from the own performance of the applicant.
Letters of recommendation by prominent musicians, teachers, etc., may be attached to the application material. All submitted documents for the application will not be returned.
Applicants must accept the conditions of the competition and any decisions made by the adjudication panel by signing the application form. Legal action regarding this point will be ruled out. Applications which do not meet the application conditions will be rejected.

Notice of Acceptance
After the evaluation of pre-screening, approximately 60 contestants shall be selected by the Jury to participate the competition. The list of accepted applicants will be published on the website: www.cifcg.ch
June 15, 2026.
The accepted candidates will be informed by e-mail.
Prizes
The International Flute Competition Guangzhou will have one person each for the 1st grand prize, the 2nd up to 6th prize, Award for the Most Promising Young Contestant.
The 1st Grand Prize: CHF 10,000 together with certificate
The 2nd Prize: CHF 8,000 together with certificate
The 3rd Prize: CHF 6,000 together with certificate
The 4th Prize: CHF 3, 000 together with certificate
The 5th Prize: CHF 2,000 together with certificate
The 6th Prize: CHF 1,000 together with certificate
Announcement of results
The order of performance will be decided by drawing lots on September 27, 2026. European Participants are requested to do the drawing personally. The order for the second round onwards also will be decided by drawing lots for each round. All the performances will be open to the public.
The competition results of each round will be announced in the evening of the same competition date.

Concerts
a) During the competition, the organization committee will invite members from jury panel to hold a jury concert
b) Prize winners nominated by the jury panel shall perform the Gala Concert on October 7, 2026
